Make Your Mark is a creative journey where you learn by doing. You start with a simple mark and build it into something that has meaning.
Across four modules, you’ll explore drawing, lettering, and visual style step by step. You’ll mess around with marks, rhythm, and repetition, then develop flow, confidence, and your own way of working. There’s no “right” style here > the focus is on experimenting, trying things out, and seeing what happens.
As you move through the course, it’s not just about how your work looks, but what it means. You’ll turn words and ideas into messages, thinking about who they’re for and where they might live. You’ll see how scale, placement, and typography can completely change how a message feels in public space.
In the final module, you bring it all together using Virtual Reality. You’ll take your sketches into VR, create immersive pieces, and place your work in a shared digital gallery. It’s a safe space to try big ideas, make mistakes, and see your work come to life.
By the end, you won’t just have learned techniques or software. You’ll have the confidence to express yourself, the skills to communicate visually, and the experience of turning ideas into work that others can see, feel, and respond to.
This is about finding your voice and giving it space to be seen.

In Level 1, you’ll learn how to turn simple lettering into a personal creative language. You’ll explore the origins of tagging, understand why graffiti became a symbol of visibility and voice, and start shaping your own handstyle. You’ll experiment with flow, rhythm, and wild-style techniques that push your letters into new forms — expressive, exaggerated, and full of attitude.
You’ll also learn how words carry meaning, and how a single phrase can become a piece of visual storytelling. By the end of this level, you’ll have created your own tag, explored wild-style variations, and designed a message piece that reflects who you are and what you stand for. It’s all about unlocking confidence, trusting your instincts, and discovering the creative power hidden in your own handwriting.

To earn this badge, you will explore how graffiti writers use lettering to express identity, movement, and style. You will begin by looking at real-world examples, including pages from Lettering Fanatics by Torus1 × Temps1, video tutorials, and curated visual references. As you explore, choose one example that sparks something for you — this might be the flow, shape, energy, colour, or attitude — and briefly explain why it stands out to you.
Next, you will sketch your own name or nickname This stage is about exploration, not perfection. You will play with letter shapes, stretch and squash forms, connect letters, and experiment with rhythm and movement. Using layering techniques, you will add colour, outlines, borders, and optional symbols that reflect your personality, story, or vibe.
For the final step, you will turn your tag into a finished “My Name Is” sticker. Using the provided template, refine your outline, clean up your forms, and bring the piece together as a bold, confident mark. To complete the task, upload a photo of your final sticker and include a short reflection using the prompt:
“My tag represents ___ because ___.”
This task demonstrates your understanding of identity, flow, and intention — the foundations of graffiti culture.
